How do the bones get joined again after being fractured?

A layer of plaster of Paris (commonly termed as POP) is applied at the place where bone breaks.

This plaster of Paris keeps the bone in the right place and tightens the bone so that it does not move.

But the main work is of calcium to fix the bone. Calcium particles begin to freeze at a broken place. Gradually, the distance between the bone starts decreasing and it joins.
